Short Course

You have a passion for designing logos for yourself and others but are not sure how to begin – you are with the right people now.

This short course is designed to last 7-8 weeks but can be flexible depending on your own commitments. You will be provided with all of the basic skills and knowledge to get you started confidently. This is also a very good short course if you are thinking about progressing onto one of our main diploma courses, Brand & Corporate ID Design for example.

START DATE: Start Anytime of the Year

DURATION: 7-8 weeks

There are 7 short modules in this course to be completed. Each module has been designed as progressive steps so that you are learning by doing.

You will be presented with Projects and Assignments in each module in which you will be assessed, plus a final exam which is carried out online through our online campus.

What you will Learn

MODULE ONE: What is Logo Design

You will start this course by looking at what is Logo Design, which is essential before you start designing or planning logos. Being able to understand how a logo works and what is needed to get the best possible results gives the most creative designers an edge over everyone else.

MODULE TWO: Typography

Now you will work with your very own one-to-one Design & Training Coach on the main attributes of a logo, starting with Typography styles in a logo. You will be presented with a project to carry out as part of this module.

MODULE THREE: Shapes & Icons

The next important attribute of a logo is its shape and style. Here again you with work with your one to one design and training coach on a project to help you to build your skills in this area.

MODULE FOUR: Creative Thinking (level 1)

Trying to come up with ideas can sometimes be difficult. Here you will look at effective ways of developing your creative process to help you to come up with those unique logo ideas

Using what you have covered in module 4, you are now going to cover the area of research, which again is a very important area when coming up with a logo design that works.

MODULE SIX: Creating the Logo

Time to start creating your first effective logo. Working with your one to one Design & Training Coach, you will be presented with your first main logo design project, which will allow you to put into practice what you have learned up to this point – this module will cover the first part of the main project.

MODULE SEVEN: Finishing the Logo

Time to finish your logo design. This is the second half and final part of your logo design in which you will complete the design working closely with your one to one Design & Training Coach.
