Primary Goal

Graphic design is to visually communicate information and concepts to a target audience. This will involve creating logos, brochures, posters, websites, user interfaces, advertisements, and other visual materials.

Graphic designers carefully consider factors such as colour theory, composition, typography, imagery, and layout to effectively convey the desired message and evoke the desired emotional response.

They also often work in collaboration with clients or art directors to understand their requirements and objectives. They then use their expertise to develop concepts, create drafts or prototypes, and refine the design based on feedback and iterative processes.

In addition to their artistic abilities, graphic designers also need to be proficient in using various software tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and others to bring their designs to life.

Overall, graphic design plays a vital role in marketing, branding, advertising, and communication by visually representing ideas, products, or services in a visually compelling and engaging manner.

It requires a combination of creativity, technical skills, and an understanding of the target audience to create effective and impactful designs.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

Don’t confuse this course with many out there that just focus on Adobe Software as they don’t teach you how to be a Professional Graphic Designer. Anyone can learn how to use design software online by watching pre-recorded videos, but they don’t learn all of the ins and outs of how professional designers actually work and the real skills they need to succeed.

Many online courses have tried to copy our curriculum and have failed as they don’t offer the recognition, real live one-to-one lessons and cover the skill sets your future employer or clients are looking for. We do!

Level 2

Our Graphic Design level 2 course provides you with all of the skills and knowledge to take your career to another level. As a level 2 course, you will cover a wide range of areas which is the standard within the creative industries.

Yes, you will get support learning Adobe and Affinity Software as well as many other important areas. The following 6 modules are designed to be completed in one to two months depending on the time you have available. It can be flexible or within a fixed time should you have a particular goal. We will work with whatever suits your commitments.

There will be projects in print and digital, along with intermediate areas in packaging, website, UX and environmental graphics included. These will all be done with the support and demonstrations from your course tutor/design coach.

At the end of this course, you will not only receive a recognised award, but you will have produced a valuable portfolio which is what your future employers or clients really want to see.

You will be given an assessment at the start of this course to establish your abilities and skill levels so we are able to build on your strong and weak points throughout the course.

STEPHANIE FINLAY - Edinburgh, Scotland

I was a complete beginner to Adobe CC, and every module within the course is designed to create and develop your skills. I now have a repertoire of programmes I can use, and I know that if I ever needed any guidance or if I’m looking to begin another diploma I could speak to my course tutor.

DEMI EDMUNDS - Nottingham, England

If I was to highlight any one thing about the school, I’d say, they are very flexible with you but the courses are not to be underestimated. They are not a tick box exercise for you to simply get your piece of paper. The unit’s really challenge you to think differently, create better and ultimately you will learn techniques and work flows that can be applied to your day job, even if you aren’t a designer.
